FAQ’s

The camp fee includes a camp backpack with wet bag, a camp T-Shirt, camp photos, towel service, all trips and overnights for division (if any), daily hot lunch and snack. The tuition also includes transportation from one of our many Central Pick-up Locations.

Camp starts around 9 am – 4 pm Monday through Friday (no camp for July 4th & July 5th). There are two options for extended care available, for campers that need it (7 am – 6 pm). Rates vary by camp program:

  • Extended Care at Mid-Island Day Camp
  • Extended Care at the JCC Building in Plainview

If you need to pick up your camper(s) early, please send an email to the Camp Office ([email protected]) & your child’s group leader with the time they will be leaving. Additionally, early pick up ends at 3:15 pm – if you arrive after 3:15 pm, you will be asked to wait in the parent pick up line for regular dismissal starting at 3:45 pm.

Every day, please send your camper in with their camp backpack, wet bag for wet bathing suits, 2 extra bathing suits, sunscreen and a water bottle (optional). It is recommended that all campers keep a spare change of clothes in their bag, just in case.

We do our best to keep bus rides around 40 minutes or less to and from camp each day. It all depends on your specific bus route – some can be longer and some will be shorter.

While we do our best to accommodate friend requests, we can only guarantee to honor your camper’s first request. Please be sure the friend request is updated on the Parent Portal on the appropriate form.

All overnight trips depart from and return to the JCC Building in Plainview (45 Manetto Hill Road – 11803). Additionally, all food during the trips are included, except for lunch on the first day (which campers must bring with them on the bus). You will receive an itinerary prior to each trip so you can plan accordingly.

  • Entering 1st & 2nd Grade: Juniors and Sport Rishon enjoy all the activities that camp has to offer. Sport Rishon’s schedule is a bit more sports focused than Junior Camp and when they are at a sport , it tends to be clinic style in order to build skills.
  • Entering 3rd through 6th Grade: Seniors & Camp 56 enjoy all age-appropriate activities and sports to camp has to offer whereas Sports Camp is only programmed for sports oriented activities, clinics, and leagues
